The honest version — what's open, what's paid, what runs locally, and what's coming.

What's open source and what's paid?
The core is open and inspectable — the command protocol, the orchestration engine, and the DAW adapters, all under MIT. The downloadable desktop app is the commercial layer: onboarding, session management, command history with rollback, and managed model routing. You can run the open core yourself or let the app do it for you.
Which DAWs are supported?
Ableton Live today. Logic, FL Studio and Pro Tools are on the roadmap. Because adapters translate one shared command system into DAW-native actions, new bridges can be built against the open protocol — yours or ours.
Does my audio or session data leave my machine?
No — local-first by default. Session analysis and MIDI / audio processing run on your computer, and the engine is offline-capable. Cloud enhancement is optional and opt-in; nothing about your project is sent anywhere unless you turn it on.
What platforms does the app run on?
macOS and Windows during the beta. The desktop shell is cross-platform; Linux is under consideration and depends on beta demand.
Do I need an internet connection?
Not for core work — the production engine is offline-capable. A connection is only needed for optional cloud models, updates, and link-based sharing.
Is it free during the beta?
Yes. The app is free while in beta and the open core stays free forever. Commercial pricing for the app lands closer to the Autumn 2026 launch.
Can I build my own adapters or extensions?
That's the point of the open core. Adapters, tools and models are pluggable, and a plugin / adapter SDK is landing soon so you can ship your own DAW bridges and co-pilot workflows.
Does the co-pilot change my project without asking?
Never silently. Every request follows plan → execute → verify: it proposes edits and shows its reasoning first, you approve, and every step is reversible with full undo and project memory.
